Kieran Bell (Director)

Kieran Bell is the founder of Biosymm Workplace Injury Management. He currently divides his time between working in the business as a Physiotherapist and serving as one of the Directors of the company.

Graduating in 1995 from Curtin University here in Perth, WA, Kieran worked in the UK and USA for 18 months in various areas of physiotherapy before returning home to Australia. Kieran then travelled throughout Australia working in several states until finally returning to WA in 2000.

Kieran is qualified in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and is certified as a Functional Capacity Evaluator using the Blankenship, EPIC and FOCUS protocols.

 

Greg Borman (Director)

Greg Borman joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in 2006 and spends his time working as a Physiotherapist and on Business Development as one of the Directors of the company.

Greg graduated from Curtin University in 2000 and worked in private practice in Perth for four years with a strong sports focus working as a Physiotherapist at the Hopman Cup and Swan Districts Football Club. Greg then travelled to the UK where he developed an interest in occupational health and safety working in central London with clients such as BP and the Bank of England.

Since returning Greg has devloped a strong interest in mining sector ergonomics and risk management and divides his time between work in Perth and work on site.

 

Janelle Mann

Janelle Mann joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in 2009.

Janelle graduated from Curtin University in 2005 and has spent time in the private sector working in both Perth and the Goldfields. Janelle currently provides both injury management and prevention based physiotherapy services at CSBP in Kwinana, and formerly provided services at Rio Tinto.

Janelle is currently enrolled at Curtin University, completing a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. 

 

Peter Farrant

Peter Farrant joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in December 2009.

Peter graduated from La Trobe University's School of Physiotherapy, Victoria, in 2005. After graduation Peter moved to Mackay and worked in private practice for three years, including work with the coal mining industry. During this period he completed a Graduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Peter moved to Perth in January 2009 and worked in a specialty sports clinic and specialty chronic pain clinic before joining the Biosymm team.

Peter is currently performing a team leader role overseeing projects on all sites and the continual development of the company.  

  

Louise Chown

 Louise Chown joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management at the start of 2010.

Louise graduated from Notre Dame University in Fremantle in 2006 and initially worked in a private hospital. After one year Louise moved into private practice which is where she gained her Physiotherapy Pilates training before moving overseas to London. While in London Louise worked on Harley Street treating some exciting high profile clients from musicians to athletes and also worked for the production 'Swan Lake' by Michael Bourne.

Louise's current role with Biosymm is largely a manual treating and rehabilitation role aimed at injury management and prevention at Rio Tinto's Pannawonica mine site.

 

Clare Haselgrove

Clare Haselgrove joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in July 2010.

Clare graduated from Curtin University in 2007 and has spent time working in the private practice sector in both Perth and Karratha. During this time Clare developed a keen interest in occupational injuries and workplace injury management.

Clare currently provides injury management and injury prevention physiotherapy services at Rio Tinto's Yandi mine site. In addition Clare provides injury prevention services to the Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) of WA and physiotherapy services at Biosymm's Perth clinic.

  

Andrew Symes

Andrew Symes joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in March 2011.

Andrew graduated from La Trobe University's School of Physiotherapy, Victoria, in 2004. He worked in the Public Health System in both Western Australia and Victoria before joining Biosymm. Andrew completed his Master of Clinical Physiotherapy (Manipulative Therapy) at Curtin University in 2010 and is an APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

Andrew is now responsible for the physiotherapy services at Tom Price, Marandoo and Western Turber Syncline mine sites in the West Pilbara and works a one week on, one week off, fly in, fly out roster.

 

Lucilla Greenwood

Lucilla joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in 2011.

Lucilla graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2008 and has since worked in the private sector in both Darwin and Perth. Lucilla has experience with Pilates, dry needling techniques and working with sporting teams.

Lucilla is currently responsible for injury management and injury prevention for Rio Tinto’s iron ore mine sites at Greater Brockman.

 

 

Erica Aviet

Erica.jpgErica started with Biosymm in September 2011. Erica graduated from Curtin Universityin 2008 and worked in private practice for two years before moving to Central West Queensland. Erica worked on an injury prevention project in the coal mining industry for one and a half years.

She has now returned to Perth and is currently working at Rio Tinto’s Tom Price & Marandoo sites on a fly-in, fly-out roster.

 

 

Brett Sharpe

Brett graduated from Curtin University in 2008 and worked as a locum in private practice before travelling overseas to compete in a number of international sailing events. Brett worked full time in private practice before joining the Biosymm team.

Brett is currently working at Rio Tinto’s Greater Paraburdoo mine site on a fly-in, fly-out roster.

 

 

 

Lisa Stone

Lisa.jpgLisa Stone joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in September 2011. Lisa graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005. After graduating, Lisa moved to Tasmania and worked for 2 years hospital based. After this time, Lisa then travelled to the UK for two and a half years working as a musculoskeletal and rehabilitation therapist. Lisa then moved to Canada for a year and has now returned to Australia, moving to Perth.

Lisa’s current role at Biosymm is largely a mixture of injury management and injury prevention at Rio Tinto’s Cape Lambert site in a shared fly-in, fly-out role.

 

Cobie Starcevich

Kobe.jpgCobie joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in September 2011. Cobie graduated from Curtin University in 2088 and worked in private practice for one and a half years before travelling for 6 months. On return to Perth, Cobie took up a position at the Mount Hospital and was involved in some contracted work at the HWE mines.

Cobie is currently working at the Hope Downs mine site for Rio Tinto, as well as being involved in injury management for various companies throughout Perth.

 

 

Libby McCarthy

Libby McCarthy joined Biosymm Workplace Injury Management in March 2011.

Libby graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) from Murdoch University in 2010 before commencing employment as an Occupational Technician at Biosymm.
 
As the Occupational Technician, Libby conducts basic medical assessments in the Perth clinic. Her responsibilities include but are not limited to the following assessments: pre-employment medicals, mine worker's health surveillance, audiometry and spirometry (lung function) and drug and alcohol screening.
